Interview With Michael B. Sutton | Successful American Music Producer

Wonderful Wishes to Motown Veteran Music Producer Michael B. Sutton who was discovered by Stevie Wonder and produced many hits records, Michael B. Sutton

—————————————————————————————–

Whatever your reasons are, a well written love song is one that can have a timeless effect on

your listeners and is something that most, if not all of the greatest songwriters of all time

Like Mike Sutton have tried to achieve.

  1. Can you talk to us about how you go about writing a love song?

Well, first I must say that I have experienced the many facets of being in and out of love. So when I do write it is born out of experience.

Usually my inspiration comes from a feeling that I remembered feeling about someone in the past or if I’m attracted to someone in the present.

I will most often hear a melody or chords before a lyric comes but sometimes there is just a chorus. I’m definitely a hopeless romantic.

  1. Do you find that you write easier if you’re working with somebody or if you isolate yourself?

I’m isolated most of the time but will bring in a lyricist many times to bring a fresh approach to a song.

  1. Who was your best collaborations ?

My former wife Brenda was the best and most active writing partner as we both were signed to Motown as writers and performers.

Yet some notable writers are Mack David who was nominated for 8 Academy awards. His most popular songs were “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo”  From Disney’s Cinderella. And “Walk on the Wild Side”

We co-wrote the song on Michael Jackson called Cinderella Stay Awhile , which was a nod to his signature song at Disney.

I’ve written with the great Jerry Butler, Jermaine Jackson and many others
