Chart-topping multi-talented artist Jan Daley reminds us why she’s one of the leading figures in the traditional jazz world. Providing us with yet another intimate and crescendo-fueled anthem bound to get you singing along and tapping your feet. As one of music industries most underrated singers, she fuses the classic old-timey sound to slick modern production — creating something truly timeless that can be enjoyed by fans of all kinds of music.

“Can’t Get Started” brings together all the best elements of classic jazz and soars it to the modern stage in a distinctly epic style. It opens up with a mystifying piano line that basks us into a heavenly soundscape. Jan captures  the rich, wordly songwriting and makes the song her own in this truly beautiful remake of a classic track —  making it accessible to a modern audience. The instrumentation is truly exquisite. Slowly building up from a single piano riff before roaring into a distinctly grandiose, almost cinematic crescendos. The old school sound stirs up imagery of a smokey jazz bar at night.

With the gracefully elegant vocals reminiscent of artists like Frank Sinatra, though it’s worth noting the track was first performed by music icon Bob Hope.

Jan brings in acclaimed arranger John Raska to help with the unforgettable melodies on the track. A musician who’s worked with a number of acclaimed big bands including Les Brown Jr’s Band of Renown. His influence on the track is impossible to ignore. With charmingly cool and charismatic organs seeping into the song about midway through — crafting a lus

cious backbone to this infectiously perfect jazz anthem. The instruments in the track build up before leading us into a show-stopping crescendo which will have you singing the famous hook “I can’t get started with you” long after the songs sell by date.
