The Princess Project Los Angeles

The Princess Project’s mission is to promote self-confidence and individual beauty by providing formal wear and accessories to high school teens who cannot otherwise afford them. Our effort is made possible through invaluable volunteer, donor, and community support via donations and financial gifts to further our goals throughout California with locations in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Sonoma County, San Diego and now here in Los Angeles.

what we do

  1. gather. Each year, The Princess Project Los Angeles gathers dresses, tuxedos, suits, formal wear accessories and apparel, new shoes and other donations from individual donors, formal wear drives, corporations, retailers and designers. We also gather cash donations for our special programs to support our partners and provide full prom packages to those teens who need the most support.
  2. organize. Our amazing group of volunteers – executive board, leadership, committees and event volunteers – come together to organize our inventory, prepare for our public giveaways and put together our special programs in order to meet our goals and support our mission and values.
  3. share. From late February through early May, we provide formal wear and prom packages to hundreds of teens from all over the city and county of Los Angeles. And each year, our goals evolve and grow to serve the need of our Los Angeles community.

what we believe
The Princess Project Los Angeles’ number one goal is to create a positive, safe environment for teens to find the formal wear desired in an environment that embraces and celebrates all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientation, disabilities and bodies of all shapes and sizes. We believe our work here in Los Angeles goes far beyond formal wear to instill a sense of pride and confidence in the thousands of teens that we hope to reach each prom season. Our goal is to reach teens at a pivotal moment in their lives and give them an experience that they will forever cherish, as we celebrate with them their passage into adulthood in a gender-inclusive environment that supports all races, ethnicities, genders, disabilities and sexual orientations.
