There are songs you hear — and then there are songs you feel. “Under The Stars” is one of those rare gems. With buttery vocals by Sophia Bolinder, 90s R&B charm, and moonlit chemistry between you and John Soul, this track isn’t just a duet — it’s a slow dance in the dark, a whispered promise, a timeless love story wrapped in melody.
Recorded in the peaceful town of Falkenberg, Sweden, but sounding like it was born in a candle-lit New York studio, “Under The Stars” brings soul back to center stage. We’re excited to dive deeper with you.
Pump It Up Magazine:“Under The Stars” is dripping with 90s/early 00s R&B energy — it’s intimate, romantic, and cinematic. What inspired this song’s story and vibe? Was there a specific moment or feeling that sparked it?
I just really wanted to bring back the golden days where music was more about feeling something and not about getting the most streams or views on TikTok or following the latest trends.
Being a huge soul and R&B lover myself, I was so thrilled when I found my producer and fellow duet partner, John Soul. I think us having similar tastes in music contributed a lot to our collaboration flowing so well.
Magazine:Your voice is so effortlessly smooth and emotional — it feels like you’re letting us into a secret. What was the emotional process like while recording your verse? Were you channeling something personal?
Thank you! Well, we really wanted to continue on the “call and response” theme as we had done on our first song, since it clearly worked well. I had been going through a lot emotionally during the time of the recording so I thought that showed up extra in channeling my emotions through the music.

Magazine:You and John Soul clearly have a special musical chemistry — this is your second duet together. What makes your collaboration work so well, and how do you bring out the best in each other creatively?
Well, I think it basically comes down to two individuals who loves making music. I usually come up with the ideas of what kind of a song I want to make, we often choose the beat and tempo together and then John comes up with a draft. I think I definitely let him “do his thing” to start with, he’s an amazingly talented singer, songwriter and producer. I then come in with my additional ideas about the disposition of the song, the vocals and the lyrics. Often we come up with new ideas while recording in the studio. Recording is the best feeling in the world!
Pump It Up Magazine:There’s a healing, almost nostalgic comfort in the track. Music like this takes people back to a safer, slower time. How do you see this song connecting with listeners on an emotional or even mental wellness level?
As I said before, I think maybe it shows that people in general are tired of the fast pacing world in general where everyone seems to be chasing the next dopamin hit.
That’s actually exactly the feeling I wanted people to get while listening to this song; to get more in tune with their emotions and feel more at peace.
Pump It Up Magazine:If someone listens to “Under The Stars” late at night, alone with their thoughts… what do you hope they feel? What’s the message or emotion you want to leave lingering in their heart?👉
I hope people will have will have a great time with someone they really like. It’s a great song to put on on the first date or when you want to make the first move, haha. The message is that it doesn’t matter where you are or what you do if you know someone is the one, when it’s right – you just know it!
